About Us
At Somali Greenpeace Association, we’re ready for something better. Based in Benadir region, our transformative Environmental Protection Movement mobilizes people from all over to take action and create a meaningful and lasting impact.
Founded in 2019 , Somali Greenpeace Association has led numerous successful campaigns that have produced real change, both in Mogadishu and across the nation. Through events, trainings, and online petitions organized by our dedicated members, we work to hold leaders and decision-makers accountable for their actions, moving them to rethink what is possible.
Somali Greenpeace Association began as a local Mogadishu environmental protection movement in 2019, focusing on social awareness, community action, climate change, environmental and coastal problems. We soon became recognized as an empowered collection of leaders—engaging with more and more people, adding more and more supporters, and amplifying more and more voices. SOGPA leads campaigns that promote real solutions to some of the biggest challenges faced by society. We challenge the notion that the way things are is the way things should always be, and are proud to be a force for positive transformation.

Our Mission:
At Somali Greenpeace Association, our mission is to strengthen and revitalize cultural traditions by creating a sustainable and earth for future generations.

Through our initiatives and by breaching the gap between the environment and the various parts of the communities, we hope to help these individuals reach the capacity to address the environmental problems.
Empower
We believe in empowering and inspiring young climate change activists within indigenous cultures in saving the planet from ever growing hazardous climate change problems. From outreach efforts to workshops, we do everything we can to help them move forward.
Support
At the end of the day, we all seek connection . Through the creation of a supportive youth organization we support strong communities, positive relationships, and laying the foundation for building healthy climate and sustainable environment.
